Fundamenteel onderzoek naar de verbetering van de kwaliteit van vliegtuigbrandstof, het verrichten van pionierswerk langs de toekomstige internationale luchtroutes en het verstrekken van essentiële informatie voor vliegeniers waren onderdeel van de activiteiten van Shell. Daarnaast is er aandacht voor de bijdrage die Shell tijdens en na de Tweede Wereldoorlog aan de luchtvaart leverde.
